Exclusive Interview With Laune – A Rising K-pop Star’s Journey

In the vibrant world of K-pop, where talent knows no bounds, a new star is on the rise, and his name is Laune.

Known for his exceptional skills as a DJ,  you might know him already alongside the enigmatic Oceanfromtheblue, Laune is now embarking on an exciting solo career as a singer, ready to captivate the hearts of music enthusiasts worldwide.

With fresh music set to drop TODAY, November 8th, with new single called ‘Real Love’, let’s delve into the world of this multifaceted artist and discover the story behind his journey.

Davide: Hi Laune, thank you so much for agreeing to this interview, we have met a few times now; I must say I really like your energy on stage and it’s a pleasure to dive into your music now.
Can you tell us about your journey from DJing to your solo career as a singer? What inspired this transition?
Laune: Hi David, big appreciation for having me 🙂 first of all, I hope you are well and don’t catch a cold.
I actually keep doing both. I also transitioned from singer to DJ because I love to try to learn something new that I’ve never experienced before.
Honestly, nothing really inspired me, but I thought it could be helpful and useful if I learned DJing, so I decided to become a DJ as well.

D: Your upcoming music release on November 8th has fans buzzing with excitement. Can you give us a sneak peek into what we can expect from this release?
L: The new single ‘Real Love’ is about a person who has a contradictory relationship.
Many people meet and sleep easily these days but are craving for real love deep inside of their hearts.I put myself in this complicated situation and tried my best to relate to the characters. Also now I’m working on an EP album and plan to release it next April.
Hope you enjoy my new single ‘Real Love’ and stay tuned!

D: As a newcomer in the K-pop (or K-R&B) scene, what do you hope to bring to the industry that sets you apart from others?
L: I’ve never thought about what I can bring to the industry because it’s not the right time to think of it. Now I have to focus on how to let more people know my name and drop more songs.

D: How would you describe your musical style and the themes that inspire your songs?
L: I could say that my musical style is pop and R&B, but I don’t want to confine the style like pop or rnb because I would like to try many things and styles as much as I can sing and express my feelings. I got inspiration from situations that I’ve experienced or happenings from other people.

D:  Many K-pop fans are always curious about the creative process. Could you share some insights into how you create your music and lyrics?
L: It depends on, randomly coming up with a topic in the street, just writing it down on my phone, or just sitting in my chair and keep waiting to get inspiration then playing piano to find some chord progressions and also making basic, catchy melody lines first. After this, I send these basic things to my producer friend, and then we develop them together.

D: What has been the most memorable moment in your career so far, either as a DJ or as a solo artist?
L: Bubble-pop festival in Barcelona last July because it was my first time showing abroad.

D: Is there a message or a story you aim to convey through your music?
L: As you can see from my lyrics, it seems like a typical love story, but I don’t aim to sing about a typical love story because it could be your friends or family who you really love or a specific object that you cherish, so I hope my songs remind your lovers and console you when you feel alone.

D: Are there any other artists or genres that have influenced your music and style? And do you have a dream collaboration?
L: I’ve been influenced by my music and style by Stevie Wonder, D’Angelo and Adele like 80’s, 90’s R&B soul music, but Adele is more pop music, but I can feel that her singing style is based on R&B soul music. My dream collaboration is with “New Jeans” because I’m really into New Jeans’ music these days.

D:  What are your future aspirations and goals as a solo artist in the K-pop industry?
L: Since I started music as a producer when I was 25, one of my goals is visiting around the world for music business, and I made it so my next aspiration is to tour around the world as a singer for my own show.

D: if you’d like to share where we can find you on social media and where we can listen to your music:L: My music is available on every platform Spotify,  iTunes, Youtube etc. and there are my IG and YouTube Chanel: laune_kr and Laune(라우네)

Thank you so much Laune, it was nice chatting with you and to get to know you a bit more. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for you and I’m looking forward for your first EP album in April 2024.
Here another song called “foolish’ for all of you to enjoy!
