SWITH in London, brace yourselves for some thrilling news! Not only did STAYC grace the stage in London on March 3rd, 2024, but we also snagged an exclusive interview with these phenomenal artists.

Now, for those who might be new to the STAYC magic, or just in case you’ve been living under a rock, let me give you a lively introduction to the sensational 6-member K-pop girl group. Meet the dynamic ensemble featuring Sieun, Seeun, Sumin, J, Isa, and Yoon. These incredible talents are the driving force behind the electrifying energy that left an indelible mark on SWITHs’ hearts at the iconic Troxy venue, all part of their world tour, “Teenfresh.” Get ready to be swept away by the charm and charisma of STAYC!

STAYC, having burst onto the K-pop scene on November 12, 2020, with their debut single album “Star To A Young Culture,” has rapidly ascended to become a powerhouse in the industry. The latest EP, “Teenfresh,” not only signifies their musical evolution but also features the chart-topping single “Bubble,” solidifying their status as trendsetters in the genre.

STAYC’s London concert kicked off with a bang, opening with the energetic “SO BAD” and my personal favorite, “RUN2U.” Experiencing these hits live was nothing short of amazing.

I must say that what stood out the most, aside from their incredible talent, was STAYC’s down-to-earth nature. They even took the time to teach some adorable Korean words and sentences to the fans during the performance—a charming touch.

During one of the stages, they dressed in costum t-shirts paying homage to the Tottenham Hotspur Football Club, STAYC added a personal touch to their London show. This, coupled with their exploration of the vibrant city, underscores their genuine care for their fans and true love to London and SWITH.

A highlight of the night was their special cover of Twice’s “FANCY”, performed for the first time in collaboration with Spotify. This not only showcased STAYC’s versatility but also emphasised their dedication to creating unforgettable moments for their fans. The studio version of this cover is set to release on March 15th, promising fans a chance to relive the magic.

Throughout the concert, STAYC maintained exceptional stage presence, exuding energy and charisma. Always wearing smiles, the members actively engaged with the audience, creating an immersive experience through dance routines and interactions. The joyous sing-alongs further emphasised the strong bond between STAYC and their dedicated fan base.

Now, let’s dive into the insightful exclusive interview with STAYC, conducted prior to their London performance. Their responses provide a glimpse into the group’s thoughts and perspectives leading up to this unforgettable event.

Davide: Hello STAYC! It’s an absolute joy to be chatting with you, my name is Davide from Davide K-pop. Before we jump into our exclusive interview, let’s break the ice a little. How about each of you introduce yourselves and share a delightful, fun fact or something unique that your fans might not be aware of?

STAYC (Sumin & Sieun) :

Sumin: Hello, I’m Sumin. What’s interesting is that we prepared a special performance as it’s our first European tour. Please look forward to it.

Sieun: Hello, I’m Sieun from STAY. I love being active and I love singing and dancing.
The unique experience was meeting a fan who was coming to our concert in London the day before our concert!

Davide: TEENFRESH is your first world tour – an incredible milestone! How has the experience been so far, and what are you looking forward to the most during the tour?

STAYC (Isa & Seeun):

Isa: Meeting our fans all over the world, we felt how much love we received, and you SWITH sang along with our music from start to finish and expressed your love for STAYC’s songs. I’m so excited to see how much we can communicate with music and love each other on the upcoming tour!

Seeun: Whenever I go to any country, the cheering sound of the fans is amazing and I feel their energy. So I’m always looking forward to those things!

Davide: London is known for its energetic and diverse crowd. What are your expectations for the London show, and is there anything special you’ve prepared for your fans here?

STAYC (Yoon & J) :

Yoon: We met London fans for the first time through Korea on Stage. We met London SWITH through STAYC’s stage. We’re so excited to see how much our London SWITH welcomed us and we can’t wait to meet you! We also prepared a song that’s scheduled to be released in March on Spotify during our Europe tour. Please look forward to it.

J: It’s our second performance in London, and I remember having a lot of fun when we first came to London, so I wanted to come again. I was so happy to come again and we’re going to pre-release songs that we haven’t released yet.

Davide: You debuted with ‘Star To A Young Culture’ back in November 2020, marking your way into the K-pop world, hit by hit. How do you feel reflecting on your journey from debut to now, especially with the recent release of your TEENFRESH EP?

STAYC (Sumin & Isa):

Sumin: I think we’ve tried a lot of different music, and I think our music journey continues because there are people who love and listen to our music.

Isa: I think we worked hard to play various genres of music, and I think we want to show you genres that we haven’t tried before.

Davide: As a fan myself, my favourite song of yours is ‘Run2You,’ and I can’t wait to experience it live. What’s your favourite song to perform in front of your fans, SWITH?

STAYC (Sieun & Yoon):

Sieun: 247, YOUNG LUV, and RUN2U! During these songs, the fans’ cheers are really loud and I feel like they are with me on stage!

Yoon: I like RUN2U, SO WHAT, and SO BAD! When I say “Make some noise!” after the song starts, the cheers are really loud! That’s why I think it’s the most fun when I’m on stage!

Davide: Besides your own incredible songs, are there any K-pop tracks or songs in any genre, that you find yourselves unable to stop listening to at the moment? Any favourites that have been on constant replay in your personal playlists?

STAYC (Isa & J): 

Isa: It’s TWICE’s “Alcohol-Free”. It makes me feel happy and like I’m on a trip. It’s a song that makes me feel happier when I listen to it on a sunny day and gives a sentimental mood when it rains.

J: I like BTS’s 00:00 (Zero O’Clock) song! It’s really good to listen to, on your way home.

Davide: Being on tour can be hectic. During your downtime, what activities do you enjoy doing to relax and unwind?

STAYC (Sieun, Seeun & J):

Sieun: I write a diary, watch a movie, and communicate with the fans.

Seeun: I don’t really like going out, but when I travel overseas, I always go out because I want to experience a lot of the culture and scenery of that country and capture it in my eyes! I think I spend my free time like that because I keep walking around, my body is tired, but I get healing in my mind.

J: It depends on my condition, I like going around tourist attractions or enjoying a hotel vacation.

Davide: Is this your first time visiting London? Are there any specific places you’d like to visit, or do you need any recommendations for sightseeing or local spots? I hope you can have time to explore the city.

STAYC (Sumin, Isa & Yoon):

Sumin: We came here last year for a performance and did a photoshoot, and I personally enjoyed watching the Notting Hill movie, so I really want to go if I have a chance.

Isa: This is my second time in London. Last time I visited so many places, including Big Ben and Soho streets, it was so good that I wanted to come again. This time, I want to travel around the streets of London and feel the atmosphere of people living in London.

Yoon: I came to Yoon Notting Hill for a short time while filming last time, and I wanted to come again after seeing beautiful coloured buildings! I remember the prettiest street I’ve ever seen, so I really want to go there again. I remember being happy to see Big Ben and the London Eye in such a beautiful time zone when I came here last time. So I want to see them again!

Davide: SWITH, your dedicated fandom, is surely excited to see you in London. How do you feel about the strong connection you have with your fans, and do you have any special messages for them?

STAYC (Sumin, Isa & J):

Sumin: Thank you for always waiting for us and loving us, STAYC. We’ll show you great performances as much as we’ve waited for a long time! 

Isa: I’m sure there are a lot of fans who haven’t met in person. It’s amazing that we can interact so well with each other. We’ll communicate a lot and show you various activities, so please stay by STAYC’s side. Thank you always!

J: Sweet people are like the driving force of my life. They are so precious and indispensable. I hope you don’t forget that London SWITH might be far away, but also close to our hearts. ❤️

Davide: As you’re rocking the TEENFRESH tour and putting in all that hard work, are there any hints or can you share any expectations about new music on the horizon? We know you’re dedicated to your craft, but also, please make sure to take some well-deserved rest after this tour!

STAYC (Sieun, Seeun & Yoon):

Sieun: I think I’m going to do a lot of different and grown-up music, not limited to the genre! It could be a more mature or feminine look! It could be a concept that I’ve never tried before. There will be a lot of special songs coming out~!

Seeun: I think we’ll be able to show you a better side of ourselves!

Yoon: I think I’ll be able to show you more diverse sides of me than now! It could be something I’ve never shown you before, or I think I’ve grown up from what I’ve shown you, but I hope you like it a lot!
