Concert Highlights: Eric Nam’s “House on a Hill” World Tour at Eventim Apollo, London

On Tuesday, March 26, 2024, Eric Nam brought his “House on a Hill” World Tour to London’s Eventim Apollo, delivering a performance that left an indelible mark on everyone present. As a long-time fan, I was thrilled to have the opportunity to experience the show with a coveted VVIP ticket and, later, to be invited by Eric’s team to review the event. The night was memorable and reaffirmed why Eric Nam is a must-see live performer.

As soon as they announced the tour last year, I bought a VVIP ticket for myself. Eric was one of the artists I always wanted to see live at least once, and boy, did he deliver. Fast forward to March 2024, and Eric’s team invited me to review the show. Unfortunately, I couldn’t take my camera to capture professional shots due to the live streaming, but I was extremely happy to be invited to review the show. I decided to use the VVIP ticket I had already bought to experience the full event. Here we are, and I’m excited to share it with you guys.

From the moment I arrived at the venue, the experience felt special. The staff at Eventim Apollo and Eric’s own team were incredibly welcoming, enhancing the excitement of the evening. The VVIP package was truly exceptional, providing an exclusive experience that felt intimate and unique. With only about 30 VVIP tickets available, we were granted early entry, allowing us to purchase merchandise without the hassle of long queues.

Once inside, we were treated to an exclusive soundcheck session. Eric’s down-to-earth personality shone through as he interacted with the audience, explaining that the performance would be live-streamed and even previewing a new song from the deluxe version of “House on a Hill.” His candidness and slight awkwardness made him relatable, breaking the barrier often felt between fans and their idols.

As the main event commenced, Eric Nam’s live singing and impressive dance routines captivated the audience. His ability to deliver a flawless performance while dancing was unexpected but greatly appreciated. The setlist was a perfect mix of his latest hits and beloved older tracks, including “Paradise,” “Trouble with You,” and my personal favorite, “Runaway.” His live vocals were as powerful and clear as his studio recordings, reaffirming his reputation as a remarkable live artist.

One aspect worth noting is Eric’s choice of language in his music. While his recent songs are predominantly in English, I would love to hear more Korean tracks in future albums. Given his international fan base, I understand the decision, but including Korean versions could add a unique dimension to his music.

The evening concluded with a meet and greet session, a highly anticipated moment for many fans, including myself. Despite Eric being on vocal rest, which limited his interaction to whispers, he remained warm and approachable. Although this was a new experience for me—having never encountered an artist on vocal rest during a meet and greet—it underscored his dedication to maintaining his voice for future performances. While slightly unusual, it didn’t significantly detract from the overall positive experience.

In summary, Eric Nam’s “House on a Hill” concert was a phenomenal experience from start to finish. His talent, energy, and genuine personality made it an unforgettable evening. If you have the chance, seeing Eric Nam live is an opportunity not to be missed. His performances are not just concerts but heartfelt experiences that resonate deeply with his audience.
