In a breathtaking display of talent and connection, IU’s performance in London at the OVO Arena, Wembley on June 21, 2024, was nothing short of spectacular. This concert was a standout in every sense, marking IU’s first performance in London during her illustrious 17-year career. Fans were greeted with a heartwarming surprise—a special gift from IU’s mother. Each attendee received a little box containing a magnet, a keychain, and two photo cards. This personal touch set the tone for an evening that felt intimate and special, despite the grandeur of the sold-out arena.

Part 1: Hypnotic

The show opened with an electrifying start. The first song, “Holssi,” immediately showcased IU’s incredible vocal range and bright stage presence, making her appear as a real-life princess. Accompanied by a live band, the sound was rich and immersive. Part 3: Romantic

The third part of the concert took on a more intimate and romantic tone. The exotic vibes of “Havana,” with its lighting and laser effects, were followed by a cover of Corinne Bailey Rae’s “Like a Star,” where IU accompanied herself on guitar for the first time. The acoustic version of “Strawberry Moon” was almost cut from the setlist but was kept due to the beautiful weather and the full moon happing on that night, adding a spontaneous charm to the evening. “Through the Night” transformed the stage into a serene forest, creating a magical, calming atmosphere.

Key songs included:

  • Havana
  • Like a Star (with guitar)
  • Strawberry Moon (acoustic)
  • Through the Night

Part 4: Ecstatic

The energy soared again with “Shopper,” featuring a cinematic intro that was visually stunning. “Above the Time” and “YOU&I” were both accompanied by impressive stage effects and IU’s outstanding vocals. “Love Wins All” was a fan favourite, displaying IU’s full range of talents. Encore: Heroic

The encore was a spectacular finale. It started with “Shh..,” where IU dazzled in a leather dress under red lights. “Twenty-three” was a high-energy performance with dancers, while the rock version of “Holssi” had the crowd going wild. Fans’ a capella rendition of “Strawberry Moon” during the en-encore was a touching moment of unity. The final songs, “Someday,” “LILAC,” “Love Poem,” and an acoustic version of “Palette,” were unscripted, leading to some lighthearted moments as IU and her musicians adjusted on the fly. This spontaneous vibe added a layer of authenticity and charm to the performance.
