If you live in the UK and are into K-pop, you’ve probably seen or heard about BLITZERS – the first K-pop group to ever grace the stage of Britain’s Got Talent. And if you haven’t? Well, let me fill you in because you’re in for something very special! Allow me to introduce you to Blitzers with this exclusive interview!
First, a little background: BLITZERS (블리처스) is a dynamic six-member boy group under Wuzo Entertainment. They burst onto the scene on May 12, 2021, with their debut EP, Check-In. Fast forward to May 18, 2024, and the group made headlines by appearing on Britain’s Got Talent.
Their audition performance of “There’s Nothing Holdin’ Me Back” by Shawn Mendes brought the house down with a standing ovation. They sailed through to the next round and even made it to the semi-finals, though they, unfortunately, didn’t progress further.
Not ones to slow down, BLITZERS announced their fourth EP, Lunch-Box, which dropped on June 19, 2024, with the leading track SUPERPOWER.
Now, let’s dive in and get to know the members – Juhan, Jinhwa, Sya, Chris, Lutan, and Wooju – a bit better with this exclusive interview and this special greeting message from Blitzers!
Davide: Hello BLITZERS, I’m Davide from Davide K-pop, it’s an absolute pleasure to chat with you. I’ve been following your journey on Britain’s Got Talent, congratulations on making it to the semi-finalists. It breaks my heart not seeing you going all the way, but you did a great job and you should be proud of what you did. How are you guys feeling?
BLITZERS:
JINHWA: It still doesn’t feel real, maybe because it’s my first time challenging a big show like this.
JUHAN: First of all, I’m so sorry that we didn’t make it to the finals, but I was proud that we reached the semifinal stage satisfactorily.
SYA: I’m sorry but we left with a good performance on the semi-final stage, so I still feel good.
CHRIS: I’m very proud of us, too! Of course, it’s a shame, but it was great because we had no regrets!
LUTAN: I’m sorry that the semifinal was the last stage, but I’m relieved that I showed you all what I prepared.
WOOJU: First of all, it doesn’t feel real. I think I had a good experience, and I was able to see the big stage and know the conditions of foreign broadcasting stations and do my best! I feel very relieved.
Davide: For those who don’t know you, could you please introduce yourself individually?
BLITZERS:
JINHWA: Hi, I’m Jinhwa, leader and a lot of knowledge at Blitzers.
JUHAN: Yes, hello. I’m the oldest vocalist of Blitzers, Juhan!
SYA: Yes! Hello! I’m SYA, rapping hard at Blitzers.
CHRIS: Hello! I’m Chris, who likes to play like a puppy!
LUTAN: Hello, I’m Blitzers’ positive boy, the happy boy Lutan.
WOOJU: Hello! I’m Wooju, the youngest member of Blitzers.

Davide: What made you decide to audition for Britain’s Got Talent? And how was the experience at Britain’s Got Talent?
BLITZERS:
JINHWA: I wanted to be stimulated through new and difficult challenges, but BGT seems to have been a good experience.
CHRIS: I wanted to let people know that we love our performances and that we are growing even more! Many of you have debuted and are doing well, but with the thought that it’s our last time, we wanted to let the public know that we’re going to be on more stages and become famous to show them our success!
Davide: How are you enjoying London so far? What has been your favourite part of it? This can be a place or a specific food, anything that will always be close to your heart.
BLITZERS:
JINHWA: London is a place I really wanted to visit, but I was so nervous and couldn’t enjoy it properly, so I want to go again next time.
JUHAN: The weather in London was so nice and I remember the “Five Guys” in London. This is because, I still remember being embarrassed, after I ordered a hamburger in a restaurant in Korea, but it wasn’t like that.
SYA: I took a walk in Kensington Park in London and I still remember it. I loved the relaxed and spacious park.
CHRIS: I think I enjoyed a lot of beautiful scenery and nature in London, drinking various cafe drinks.
LUTAN: I liked the streets and buildings in London. I liked the atmosphere and sensitivity that I could not feel in Korea.
WOOJU: I loved the streets of London! I think it was nice because it had a different atmosphere from where I lived.
Davide: Can you tell us a bit about how BLITZERS was formed and what inspired the group’s name?
BLITZERS:
LUTAN: We came together through separate auditions and our CEO gave us the name “Blitzers” first. I know he was probably inspired by football.
SYA: That’s right. We came up with the name “Blitzers” because we’ve been working hard to find our dreams. In American football, we have a position called “Blitzers,” which is a position where when our allies attack, they defend each other’s defenders and keep our backs. It means that we want to be like that to each other and our fans.
Davide: Who are your musical influences, and how have they shaped your music and performance style?
BLITZERS:
JINHWA: I’m influenced by and continue to respect Michael Jackson! So I’m still thinking about how to mix elements of KPOP with the parts I want to resemble my favourite artist.
JUHAN: I think it was Christopher who influenced me musically! I liked “Bad” the most among his songs, so I copied it a lot!
SYA: Personally, I think I was very influenced by G-Dragon and B.I. I was very influenced by the way I sang and wrote lyrics.
CHRIS: As a hip-hop lover, I’ve shaped my style by listening to rappers like Juice Wrld, Playboi Carti, xxxtentacion and more!
LUTAN: I’m getting influenced by music from everyone and now I’m looking for a style of music that I can enjoy and do better.
WOOJU: I haven’t made or released my songs yet, so I don’t have my own style, and I’m usually trying to broaden my horizons to world-famous rappers and pop stars when I’m doing this and that by myself.
Davide: Your performances on Britain’s Got Talent have been amazing! Can you walk us through your preparation process for each stage of the competition?
BLITZERS:
JUHAN: I had a great opportunity to work with Team Same and DOKTEUK CREW. Thanks to you, I was able to show you a better performance.
WOOJU: We prepared for about 10 days for both the preliminary and semi-finals and the waiting time on the day of shooting was longer than I thought, so I had to warm up every now and then! I practised a lot to show you a good performance.
Davide: How do you handle creative differences within the group? Does anyone take on a leadership role during the creative process?
BLITZERS:
SYA: I tend to throw ideas first and then refine and organise them. In the last album, Jin-hwa was in charge of the creation, but in this album “LUNCH-BOX”, I’m in charge of that role.

Davide: Performing in a different country can be challenging. How do you handle language barriers and cultural differences while performing in the UK?
BLITZERS:
JINHWA: I think it helped me a lot in terms of language because I have Chris who can speak English.
SYA: Right. Chris didn’t make it difficult, and the British people were so kind that I didn’t feel any cultural difference.
Davide: What have you learned from your experience on Britain’s Got Talent that you will take with you in your future adventures?
BLITZERS:
JUHAN: I think I learned how to enjoy it on stage and how to do it better.
CHRIS: I have found the talents of people in various fields and learned a lot about how hard you have worked to show them! What a great experience!
Davide: Where do you see BLITZERS in the next five years? What are your long-term goals as a group?
BLITZERS:
LUTAN: I want to do tours and performances in various countries, including album activities, and my long-term goal is to perform in Blitzers for a long time.
WOOJU: I don’t know because I can’t imagine the future yet, but I personally want to remain a team remembered by people!
Davide: Any special messages for BLEE in the UK and around the world who have followed your journey so far?
BLITZERS:
JINHWA: I’ve thought of a lot of nice things to say, but I think health and happiness are the best.
JUHAN: We’re making a comeback after a long time. Thank you for waiting. We’ll show you a lot of different sides next time.
SYA: We will continue to be Blitzers, so we would appreciate it if you could keep an eye on us!
CHRIS: You can’t get out of our BLEE if you’re attracted to them! So fall in love with them, our BLEE!
LUTAN: Thank you for always supporting and liking us anytime, anywhere, and we will continue to come back with better performances! I love you!
WOOJU: Thank you so much for moving forward so far. Let’s continue to experience the wider world together! BLEE!
Davide: After Britain’s Got Talent, what’s coming next? Are you guys working on new music or a possible tour?
BLITZERS:
JINHWA: I’m planning to meet more BLEE.
CHRIS: I think we will probably have a tour after this! I can’t wait to meet many BLEEs!
Davide: Can you please talk us through your latest ep ‘LUNCH-BOX’? What was the creative process and do you have any favourite songs?
BLITZERS:
SYA: This time, Chris and I participated in the choreography, and Juhan and Chris also participated in writing the lyrics. I am proud that our participation is increasing.
WOOJU: From the title song SUPERPOWER to the included songs, they are all good songs, so please listen to them at least once.
Davide: What do you do in your spare time when you want to relax or unwind? Any special activities or hobbies?
BLITZERS:
JINHWA: Play basketball to relieve stress and organise your mind.
JUHAN: I watch animations and go to exhibitions.
SYA: When I relax, I consciously warm up first. I keep moving because I think that when my body starts to harden, my whole body collapses, and my hobby is to lie in bed and watch animations on my days off.
CHRIS: My hobby is putting on nail polish! Or I like ice hockey, so I want to go play it when I have time!
LUTAN: I keep taking deep breaths when I relax, and in my free time I usually take a lot of walks and play games.
WOOJU: In my free time, I usually go for a walk or spend it at home. I usually watch Netflix and stuff.
Davide: Thank you so much for your time! Best of luck in the semi-finals and beyond. We look forward to seeing more amazing performances from BLITZERS!
BLITZERS:
JUHAN: Thank you! We’ll become Blitzers who work even harder!
WOOJU: Thank you. Please look forward to it!
I really had a fun time with this interview! Make sure to check out Lunch-Box on your digital platforms and to follow BLITZERS on social media!
