Billlie’s Electrifying Performance at Troxy, London

Summer in the UK has had its ups and downs this year, but one thing definitely helped K-pop stans cheer up a little bit: having their favourite artists come and performances! From IVE to IU to Stray Kids, it’s been a thrilling season for fans. The excitement reached a new peak on the 21st of July 2024, when the amazing Billlie hit the stage at Troxy in London as part of their “Our FLOWERLD: Belllie’ve You” World Tour.

Billlie, consisting of Moon Sua, Suhyeon, Haram, Tsuki, Sheon, Siyoon, and Haruna, debuted in 2021 under Mystic Story Entertainment, a subsidiary of SM Entertainment. Known for their captivating performances and dynamic stage presence, the group did not disappoint.

As the lights dimmed and the first notes of “GingaMingaYo (the strange world)” filled the air, the crowd erupted in cheers. The girls appeared in beautifully coordinated denim outfits, each unique yet perfectly harmonious, reflecting their cohesive yet distinct personalities. Their synchronised movements and vibrant energy immediately captivated the audience, setting a high bar for the evening.
Following this electrifying opener, Billlie transitioned into “flipp!ng a coin,” showcasing their incredible dance skills. The energy in the venue was palpable, with fans hyped and singing along. The seamless choreography and the members’ undeniable chemistry made it clear why they are considered some of the best dancers in K-pop. That’s what stood up the most – my apologies if I repeat this often in the article… They are GOOD!
“DANG! (hocus pocus)” in its English version came next, with the group’s energy remaining at an all-time high. The fans’ enthusiastic screams added to the charged atmosphere, making it evident how much the audience enjoyed every moment. After this song, the group took a brief break to introduce themselves, share their excitement about being in London, and interact with their fans. They recounted their visits to the London Eye and Big Ben, expressing how much they loved the city and how the support from their ‘Belllie’ve’, Billie’s fandom name, made the experience even more special.

Resuming their performance with “The Soul Saviour ~ I Don’t Need a Superman,” the girls showcased their powerful vocals, even as the choreography took a slightly less prominent role. This allowed the audience to appreciate their singing talents more fully. “extra-ordinary,” making its live debut, followed, highlighting some members’ rap skills and keeping the energy levels high.

As the concert continued, “lionheart (the real me)” had the fans going crazy with its infectious vibe. The choreography might not have been as intense as the previous stage, but the enthusiasm in the venue more than made up for it. The surprise dance covers of BLACKPINK’s “Kill This Love” and Jung Kook’s “Standing Next to You” by Tsuki, Sheon, and Haruna were thrilling, while Suhyeon and Haram’s live rendition of “Rewrite the Stars” showcased their AMAZING vocal abilities. Absolutely out of this world!

Moon Sua and Siyoon took the stage for a powerful performance of BLACKPINK’s “Pink Venom,” combining live vocals with impressive dance routines. This was followed by a cute and engaging VCR of their European tour practice vlog, where they shared their excitement about the tour and even taught some Korean phrases to their fans, such as 사랑해요 – pronounced ‘salanghaeyo’ – I love you in English.

The heartfelt ballad “FLOWERLD” showcased their vocal range and brought a warm, emotional moment to the night. The live debut of “Mcguffins ~ who’s the Joker?” had the entire theatre bouncing with its energetic vibe. “nevertheless” kept everyone on their feet, leading to a heartfelt moment where the leader expressed gratitude to both the fans and the members.
“EUNOIA” brought back the dynamic choreography, while “enchanted night ~ white night” and “MOON palace” added a cute and charming touch to the set with their smooth and playful moves. The energy surged again with “DOMINO ~ butterfly effect” performed under dramatic red lighting, leaving a lasting impression.

Before the final song, Billlie took another moment to thank the fans sincerely. “RING ma Bell (what a wonderful world)” closed the main set with explosive energy, leaving the audience buzzing.
The encore began with “RING X RING,” a great start that kept the momentum going, followed by the adorable “BYOB (bring your own best friend)” in English, emphasising love and friendship. They concluded with “believe,” a heartwarming song filled with fan interactions, ensuring the night ended on a high note.

Billlie’s performance at Troxy was nothing short of spectacular. Their coordinated dance moves, vocal prowess, and genuine connection with the fans made it an unforgettable night. The ‘Belllie’ve’ left the venue with smiles, eagerly anticipating the next time Billlie graces the London stage.
