A Dreamy Night: NCT DREAM’s Final European Show in London

NCT DREAM concluded their European leg of THE DREAM SHOW 3 WORLD TOUR with a bang with a SOLD OUT SHOW at the OVO Wembley Arena on November 12th. And let me tell you, it was a dream come true!

This was my second time seeing them live, and I was just as excited as the first. Having fallen even deeper in love with them after last year’s show, I was eager to experience another unforgettable night.

If you’re new to the group, let me introduce you to Mark, Renjun, Jeno, Haechan, Chenle, Jaemin, and Jisung, the talented members of NCT DREAM, a subunit of SM Entertainment’s NCT.
Just a few days ago, NCT DREAM released their fourth full-length album, “DREAMSCAPE,” with the title track “When I’m With You.”

While preparing for the concert, I analysed the set list for the show and noticed a unique focus on B-side tracks. This unexpected choice made me wonder if it was a deliberate continuation of their last tour, emphasising their recent releases. While I missed some iconic hits like “Glitch Mode” and “Hot Sauce,” it was exciting to see performances of songs we might not have otherwise experienced live.

Now, let’s dive into the show! NCT DREAM’s OVO Wembley Arena concert was a complete sell-out, and the energy in the venue was electric. As soon as we entered, the crowd was buzzing with anticipation.

The stage was beautifully adorned with curtains that formed a giant lightstick, a nod to their latest design. It was a clever and visually appealing touch. As the lights dimmed and a dark, mysterious video played, fans erupted in cheers, ready for the grand opening.

NCT DREAM kicked off the show with a bang, emerging in cool, studded leather outfits. I was instantly hooked and lowkey inspired, I need those jackets! After a brief intro, they launched into “BOX,” setting the stage for a high-energy performance. This was exactly what I expected from them, and it reminded me of their powerful “Glitch Mode” opener from the previous tour.
Next up was “SOS,” one of my favourites from the album. I was thrilled to see it on the setlist, and their amazing rap skills truly shone through. They then transitioned to “GO” on the mid-stage.

After this stage, the guys took a moment to introduce themselves and greet the fans. NCTzen’s cheers filled the arena with love. They also announced that this would be their final European show.
Back to the performance, they performed the dreamy “Poison” with stunning purple lighting and effects. The smoke and lights created a magical atmosphere, as if they were dancing on a purple cloud. “Drippin’” closed out this stage, and the guys took a break to change outfits.

The next stage began with NCT DREAM in a school uniform-inspired look, performing “Arcade,” followed by the ever-popular “We Go Up.” “Bungee,” “Walk With You,” and “Never Goodbye” brought a softer, more sentimental vibe to the show. They concluded this stage with the beautiful ballad “Breathing,” performed with standing mics.

A playful video inspired by Alice in Wonderland introduced the next stage, which was filled with fun and energy. “Yogurt Shake” got everyone moving, followed by “Pretzel (♡)” and the iconic “CANDY” cover, which had the crowd singing and dancing along, including myself.

The guys changed into sparkling white jackets for “Dream Run” and the fan-favourite “Better Than Gold.” “Fireflies” had everyone singing along, and “Hello Future” and “Broken Melodies” showcased their vocal prowess. I was so looking forward for this last one, I love the track and they sure delivered it!

The final stage brought an urban punk vibe with “Skateboard.” And then, the moment we’d all been waiting for: “ISTJ” and “Smoothie.” These two tracks were the highlight of the night, and the guys ATE! What an incredible performance that left us speechless. What a way to end the show!

The encore was a surprise! Instead of casual clothes, NCT DREAM appeared in stunning white and cream outfits. They kicked off the encore with “Rains in Heaven” followed by “ANL.”

The guys took a moment to appreciate the crowd and take a picture on stage with all of us. The audience surprised Chenle with a heartfelt birthday wish, since his birthday is in a few days. It was a heartwarming moment and left him very surprised.
Before the final song, NCT DREAM thanked the fans and the staff for making the tour possible. Mark, while he was wrapping up the thank you messages, he made a new promise with NCTzen by saying that they will meet up again soon, teased a future “THE DREAM SHOW 4,” promising an even better experience.
Mark then shared his nervousness about the tour, given the short preparation time of only two months for seven members. Despite the challenges, they delivered an incredible performance.
The final song, “Like We Just Met,” was a bittersweet ending to an amazing night.

Overall, NCT DREAM proved once again that they are a force to be reckoned with. Their incredible dancing, rapping, and stage presence were truly impressive.
While I enjoyed both “THE DREAM SHOW 2” and “THE DREAM SHOW 3,” I personally preferred “THE DREAM SHOW 2.” While I appreciated the focus on new releases in “THE DREAM SHOW 3,” I missed some of their biggest hits like “Glitch Mode” and “Hot Sauce.” A few medleys of classic songs could have elevated the show even further.
If you’re considering attending a future NCT DREAM concert, I highly recommend it! It’s an unforgettable experience.

Don’t forget to stream NCT DREAM’s new album on your favourite platforms, and I can’t wait to see what they have in store for us next!
