Get ready, NTFUL! NTX, the dynamic 8-member boy group, are back with their powerful second album, OVER TRACK. Comprising Hyeongjin, Yunhyeok, Xiha, Changhun, Hojun, Eunho, Seungwon, and Rawhyun, the group has captivated fans since their 2021 debut with “Kiss The World.”

We had the chance to delve into the creative process behind their new music and learn more about their journey.

Davide: Hello NTX! I’m Davide, thank you for taking the time for this interview. How are you all doing today? It must be a busy time with the second album coming out! Could you please introduce yourselves one by one to our readers? Including a fun fact or something unique about yourselves that NTFUL might not know yet.
HYEONGJIN: Hello! I may look dandy when I stay still, but that disappears the moment I start speaking English. I have a personality that changes depending on who I’m with~

YUNHYEOK: We’ve made a comeback with our full-length album OVER TRACK. The songs and performances are something we’re really confident in, so please show a lot of interest! Also, if I were to describe my unique trait, despite my intense appearance, I’m actually the main vocalist with a soft voice. (HAHA)

XIHA: I’m Xiha, and I’m in charge of performance in the team. My charm is that I look very different on and off stage. Thank you!

CHANGHUN: To be honest, I may look intense on the outside, but inside, I’m actually very warm-hearted and quite clumsy at times. I’ll show you a lot of my unexpected charms!

HOJUN: Hello, I’m Hojun, the vocalist of NTX. I’m not very athletic, so I tend to make people laugh with my clumsiness.

RAWHYUN: Hello, I’m Rawhyun, the troublemaker and producer of the team. I’m a much weirder person than you can imagine. Love you all.

EUNHO: Hello, I’m Eunho, the lead vocalist of the team. I’m usually calm, but when I’m on stage, I show a passionate and surprising side of me—please look forward to it!

SEUNGWON: I’m the youngest of the team, Seungwon. I’m in charge of rap and dance. My charm is that, despite being the youngest, I’m not just cute—I believe I have a powerful presence on stage.

Davide: Your group name, NTX is very interesting! Can you tell us the story behind your name and how you came together?

YUNHYEOK: NTX stands for Neo Track No.X, which means “children of the unknown who are always pioneering new paths.” As for how we came together—our company gathered only the most stylish people in South Korea.

Davide: Your 2nd album, OVER TRACK, is finally out and I was looking forward to it since you guys shared the concept presentation, which I found it very cool! Can you tell us about the overall concept and message you convey through this album?

YUNHYEOK: First of all, our song is based on the theme of “breaking free”—a story about escaping from a repetitive daily routine. I hope you all can listen to our song and enjoy breaking free with us!

Davide: Let’s talk about the behind-the-scenes of the album, did you guys work on the music or lyrics? Is there a story you’d like to share with us?

EUNHO: For our 2nd full album OVER TRACK, we had the opportunity to collaborate with YG producers. Among the 11 tracks, our member Rawhyun participated in 9 of them, while Changhun and Seungwon also contributed to the lyrics of 2 songs.
We recorded two songs per day over a span of two weeks, and the process went smoothly. The final result turned out great, and our members are very satisfied with it!

Davide: The music video for Over N Over is so cool and fun! Can you elaborate on the storytelling behind the music video and the overall aesthetic you were aiming for?

XIHA: Over & Over is a song that expresses the feeling of breaking free from daily life and enjoying a sense of escape. We parodied Squid Game to depict an invitation to this escape, and we visually represented breaking out of the norm with scenes like buildings turning into speakers and a train veering off its tracks.

We also showed our own version of breaking free by having a party with drinks instead of alcohol. There’s no single right answer—whatever you imagine is the right answer! 

Davide: What’s your favourite track from OVER TRACK?

HYEONGJIN: Among all the tracks, I like the title song Over & Over the most. But if I had to choose a non-title track, it would be Like This! I can already imagine the stage heating up!

YUNHYEOK: Of course, my favourite is the title track, Over N Over.

XIHA: I like Like This the most. The title track is definitely number one, but among the B-sides, Like This fits my style the best.

CHANGHUN: For me, it’s Like This. Every time I perform it on stage, I feel something that sets my heart on fire, and that’s why I love it.

HOJUN: My favourite song from this album is STAY. It has a refreshing vibe, and I love how it brings a different kind of joy to the stage.

RAWHYUN: My favourite song is WASSUP. It sounds great, but it’s even more fun when you watch the performance along with it!

EUNHO: Among the B-sides, my favourite is STAY. It has a fresh and bright feel, and its simple melody makes it easy to remember. It also lifts my mood whenever I listen to it, which is why I love it the most.

SEUNGWON: My favourite song is Scoot! The beat and performance feel like leading a whole crew, which is why I picked it.

Davide: How does “OVER TRACK” differ from your previous albums like “Full of Lovescapes” and “Hold X’ “? What new aspects of NTX can we expect to see in your new album?

YUNHYEOK: Our OVER TRACK album has not only improved significantly in quality compared to our previous albums but also features more mainstream, listener-friendly songs. That’s why we believe you’ll love it! Plus, there are a lot of performance-heavy tracks, so there’s plenty to enjoy visually as well.

Davide: With the release of OVER TRACK, are there any plans for a world tour? We would love to see you in London!

RAWHYUN: With our OVER TRACK album, we have a huge desire to travel to different countries and showcase our performances. We haven’t been to Europe yet, but we really hope to go on a European tour and meet our fans there! 

Davide: Looking back on your journey from debut to now, what are your most significant milestones or challenges?

HOJUN: I feel like my challenge is still ongoing.

Davide: Which are some of the artists who inspire you? They can be in or outside of K-pop.

HOJUN: The artists who inspire me are, first of all, Baek A-yeon and IU. As for someone who inspires me in terms of personality, it would be BTS’s Jin.

Davide: Do you have any special hobbies or activities you enjoy in your spare time? What helps you unwind when you are not working?

CHANGHUN: During my free time, I usually sleep in a lot. I definitely feel less stressed and more refreshed after getting plenty of sleep. Recently, I’ve also been playing games occasionally, and it really helps relieve stress.

Davide: If you had a superpower, what would that be and why?

HYEONGJIN: It’s teleportation! I’d go anywhere NTX fans want us to perform and meet them~~ I’d save travel time to get a bit more sleep and take care of my condition too. Hehe!

Davide: Do you have a special message for NTFUL, your fans?

SEUNGWON: We, NTX, always do our best, and I believe it’s because of our fans that we’re able to hold onto this position. We’ll continue to show up with even cooler and more beautiful versions of ourselves. Thank you so much to all our NTFLs for your continued love and support.
