COLDE in London: A Blue Print for an Amazing Night

On the 3rd of March, COLDE, together with basecamp and Khaikii, performed at the iconic Clapham Grand in London and delivered an amazing show full of energy and great vibes! COLDE is a singer-songwriter who debuted in 2016 as a member of the indie duo Off On Off. As a solo artist, his R&B style makes him one of a kind, with songs like “Toxic Love” and “I Color You.”

Let’s now dive into the night! Basecamp, the Korean band duo formed around 2015 but officially debuted in 2022, opened the show for COLDE. basecamp were the sweet and perfect opening act; their melodies set the tone of the night – just the perfect warm-up! They opened with “Wandering” and “Sun and Life,” then performed “From John” and “Silver Line.”

Just as basecamp were wrapping up their last song, the anticipation in the room surged as COLDE made his appearance to start his set! Fans went crazy; there wasn’t much time to catch a break before we were into the first song, “Toxic Love,” which was one of my favourites! “Heartbreak Club” was up next, followed by “YAYAYA.” COLDE took a moment to thank the fans, and “POEM” was played next, together with “You Don’t Need Me Love” and “Light.”

And then Khakii jumped on stage and performed “Bass” and then “Juicy” together with COLDE. The structure of the night, with basecamp opening, followed by COLDE, then Khakii joining in the middle before COLDE returned to close, was a great way to build the energy and keep the audience engaged. I really liked it!

Khakii was on fire; he performed “Coffee,” “LOST,” and “Double Up.” Although Khakii’s set was a little short, he brought such great energy to the stage!

COLDE then made his return to the stage wearing a blue t-shirt with “I ❤ LONDON,” which was a very sweet touch! He performed “Nirvana Blues,” followed by “Lighter” and “I F**king Love You.” A little break to interact with the fans, and then back on track with “Sunflower” and “Control Me.”

Then finally, he performed the fan favourite “I Color You”! This song was so sweet as fans sang along, definitely one of my highlights of the night! He then performed “WA-R-R” and “After Everything,” followed by “Star” and “Dance.”

And just like that, the show was over, just time for a group picture, and COLDE, together with basecamp and Khakii, said goodbye to the audience.

But it’s not over! A surprise encore performance with “Smells Like Teen Spirit” (Nirvana’s cover) made everyone jumping and singing out loud! The energy was very, very high! They then closed the encore with “Wonderwall,” another cover, but from Oasis.

The show was amazing! If you missed COLDE this time around, make sure to catch him next time! The only downside of the show was the poor lighting; artists weren’t very visible on stage, especially when both COLDE and Khakii were on stage. It looked like half of the stage was not illuminated. Besides that, the show was top-notch; their talent as musicians is unbelievable!
