During the GLOW Tour, TRENDZ made their stop in London on June 4th at the 229 and delivered a show full of energy and enthusiasm!
If you are new to the group, TRENDZ is a seven-member South Korean boy band known for their energetic performances and musical storytelling. They debuted in January 2022 with their first mini album, BLUE SET CHAPTER 1. [TRACKS] and title track “TNT (Truth & Trust)”, which notably carries a dual meaning, referencing both truth and trust as well as the explosive substance TNT. Fast forward to recent days, they published their single album Chameleon, which has been on repeat on my playlist since its release. TRENDZ consists of Havit, Leon, Yoonwoo, Hankook, ra.L, Eunil, and Yechan, each with their unique charm and talent. A few months ago, just before the tour started, we had an interview with them to promote this tour; make sure to check it out if you haven’t already.

Let’s now jump into the amazing show in London!
Before TRENDZ made their appearance on stage, a local dance group called DAL SEGNO opened the show with a medley of songs from both Western and K-pop artists. What great energy to hype the fans! They were amazing dancers with fantastic energy. It’s worth keeping an eye on them via their social media!

It was finally TRENDZ’s turn to make their entrance, wearing baggy streetwear. While all different, their outfits somehow created a cohesive theme. They kicked off the show with a bang by performing “My Way” and then took a moment to thank the fans! The guys were very excited to perform in London, especially because the previous tour didn’t go as planned. After the first brief chat, they continued the show with “Nightmare,” “WHO,” and “CLIQUE.”

Just enough time to catch their breath, and TRENDZ was ready for the new set, which was a bit different from what you’d expect. It started with a cover of Harry Styles’ “As It Was,” followed by an amazing performance of Coldplay’s “Viva La Vida.” It was very nice because fans sang along, especially towards the end.
The special set didn’t stop here. TRENDZ prepared a one-of-a-kind K-pop medley, where they showed off their amazing dance skills and charisma. The medley included songs like Jennie’s “Like Jennie,” P1Harmony’s “DUH!,” BTS’s “Fake Love,” and more. It was particularly nice seeing this special set because, just before debuting, they released a series of special K-pop dance covers. For me, this set was not just an homage to the artists they covered, but also a celebration of TRENDZ themselves and their roots.

After this special set, they finally played my favorite song, “Chameleon”—fabulous, a showstopper, incredible. Straight after that, they jumped into “GLOW,” another banger which gives the tour its name, followed by the warm “Ven Conmigo.”
Before wrapping up the show with the last stage, the group took a break and started chatting with the fans. Leon mentioned that he worked on some of the group’s choreography. It always fills my heart with joy when K-pop groups put their creativity into their work; it’s not always the case, but I’m glad when they can do that. While chatting, they also mentioned their love for London and wished they had more time to visit more places. They even practiced some English accents for a few words, and they low-key did a good job!

The time for chatting was over, and they performed “Villain” with amazing choreography, followed by the energetic “VAGABOND.” “Fantasy” and “FOREVER MORE” were the last two songs of the night. But it’s not a K-pop show without an encore! TRENDZ jumped back on stage to perform “ddoO ddoO” and the fan-favorite “NEW DAYZ.” And just like that, the show was over.
This was my first time seeing TRENDZ, and they definitely left a great impression! Great dancers, great singers, and what amazing energy! Overall, the show was pretty good. The only downside was the venue lighting; it only illuminated the centre of the stage, leaving the sides a bit dark. This not only made photography difficult to capture but also didn’t seem fair to the artists, as they are the stars of the show and deserved all the spotlight needed! Besides this tiny thing, the show was incredible, and if you are not following TRENDZ, you are missing out big time!
