Exclusive Interview: Getting to Know SuperThai and Their Musical Journey

The Thai music scene (T-Pop) is currently undergoing a massive global explosion, and rising right at the forefront is the independent powerhouse SuperThai.

Consisting of members Plengthai, Tadalee, Peanut, and Ninja, the group has been steadily building a reputation for high-energy performances and a signature “Neon Sound” that blends modern pop with a distinct Thai flair.

The group first captured the public’s attention as standouts on the survival show Chuang Asia, where they proved their versatility and stage presence under the global spotlight. What makes SuperThai particularly unique is their journey as an independent act. Rather than following a traditional path, the members have leveraged their individual experiences—ranging from competitive athletics to previous group debuts—to forge a creative identity that is entirely their own. This self-driven approach was recently highlighted in their live session cover of “Die With A Smile,” where they traded their high-speed choreography for a moment of raw vocal harmony that resonated with fans worldwide.

With their latest releases like “Heartbreaker” and “Generate” currently gaining momentum, the group is now looking toward international stages. I had the pleasure of sitting down with them for an exclusive chat to discuss the bond they share with their fandom, CUBBIES, their creative process, and what it’s like to bring their sound to a global audience.

Get ready to “Run the Show” with the 4 Tigers of Thailand!

Davide: Sawasdee krub (สวัสดีครับ), SuperThai! It is a real pleasure to have this interview with you. I have been closely following the energy you are bringing to the music scene lately, and it’s truly impressive to see how the four of you are carving out such a unique path. To start, could each member please introduce themselves and share one thing about your personality that CUBBIES might find surprising?
TADALEE: Wassup, I’m TADALEE of SuperThai! I’m the main dancer and rapper of our group. I might look too cool and swaggy on the stage, but outside, you might be surprised to find me in a cute / very kind version.
NINJA: Hello Davide! I’m Ninja, the youngest member of SuperThai and the group’s main vocalist. Nice to meet you. As everyone knows, I’m a very high-energy person, so people often think I’m an extrovert. But actually, I also really enjoy spending time alone, so I believe I have an introverted side as well. Please take good care of me.
PLENGTHAI: Hello, I’m Plengthai. Honestly, I’m not sure what part of my personality CUBBIES might not know yet, because I tend to be very much myself both in front of the media and behind the scenes. Most people probably know me as the eldest member who takes care of the younger members, and I always try to be that person while working. But in my daily life, I actually like acting quite childlike because it helps me relax.
PEANUT: Hello, I’m Peanut from SuperThai. I’m playful, mischievous, and may appear confident in the eyes of fans, but in reality, I’m someone who enjoys being alone. I don’t have many hobbies, and I’m actually not very confident. However, because of my responsibilities and the things I truly love, I’ve learned to adapt and give my best in everything I do. I’m also very lucky to have a supportive family, great teammates in SuperThai, an amazing team, and wonderful fans who always encourage me. I want to sincerely thank everyone.

Davide: Your fandom name, CUBBIES, is so memorable. It perfectly balances the “Tiger” strength of the group with a sense of family. How did you decide on this name, and what is one message you always want to tell your CUBBIES when you are on stage?
TADALEE: It’s Cub (little tiger) + baby = Cubbies~ I just always wanted to tell you all that I’m very grateful to have you all, and each and every one of you is loved and means a lot in our lives. You are the reason we get to shine on the stage 🤍
NINJA: We actually discussed many different names, but we chose this one because we felt it was as cute as all our fans. The message I always want to tell our CUBBIES is thank you for always supporting and encouraging us. We will never let you down.
PLENGTHAI: The name CUBBIES took us a long time to decide on, and our ideas went very far in many directions. Eventually, we thought about going back to the basics — something connected to SuperThai. Since we represent tigers, we came up with the word “cub,” which means a baby tiger. Then we added “bie” to make it sound cuter, and finished it with an “s” because there are many of our CUBBIES. That’s how the name came to be. I want to sincerely thank everyone who has become our CUBBIES, including those who will become CUBBIES in the future. You are the reason SuperThai is still standing here today.
PEANUT: Honestly, we spent a long time thinking about our fandom name. We had many different choices, but in the end, we chose something simple and closest to who we are — tigers. That’s how the name CUBBIES came about, which means little tiger cubs who grow together with the four of us. Every time I’m on stage, I always want to tell our fans that they mean so much to all four of us. Please continue to support us and enjoy every moment together like this every day.

Davide: I have to mention your recent cover of “Die With A Smile”. It was absolutely incredible! Your vocal harmonies were so stable, and the emotional delivery was top-tier. What drew you to this specific song, and how did it feel to step away from your high-energy dance tracks to show this more “vocal-focused” side of the group?
TADALEE: Actually, this is very challenging for a dancer/rapper like me. Nevertheless, I’m very proud to step out of my comfort zone and deliver this piece of art. This song is really meaningful and resonates with a lot of people’s lives. Personally, for me, I want to deliver a message to Cubbies that no matter what happens, we will always be with you.
NINJA:
As the main vocalist, I see this performance as a way to show that every member in our group has strong vocal potential, not just one person. I was deeply touched that everyone enjoyed our cover so much. Each member expresses emotions differently, but for me, this song was meant to convey that if this were my last day, being able to sing in front of everyone would be my greatest happiness.
PLENGTHAI:
This is actually a song we already loved. During our free time, we often sang it together for fun, and we even competed over who got to sing Lady Gaga’s parts. When we started the Live Session project, we wanted everyone to see a side of us focused purely on singing, since we usually sing while dancing at the same time. That’s why we chose this song — both because we love it and because of its meaningful lyrics.
PEANUT:
At first, we chose this song because of its meaning. It talks about how, no matter what happens, if we ever have to part ways, we would leave with smiles and the happiness we shared together. It represents our relationship with our fans very well, because no matter what problems or situations happen, they always stay by our side. Honestly, even if one day things change or we are no longer together, we would still feel happy because we have always received so much happiness from our fans. As for switching from high-energy performances to a more vocal-focused style, I think it was a great opportunity for us to show another side of our potential.

Davide: As an independent group, you have a lot of creative freedom to define your own “Neon Sound.” For readers in the UK who are just discovering you, how would you describe the creative process behind a SUPERTHAI release? Does everyone get involved in the “vibe” and the concept?
TADALEE: We all share a piece of our hearts into every song. From choreography to lyrics and creative ideas. Just know that every piece of work from us came straight from our hearts, and the “Thainess” nature of ours.
NINJA: In every release, our team always gives us the opportunity to participate creatively, whether it’s contributing to the lyrics or even designing choreography. That’s what allows each vibe and concept to naturally reflect who we truly are.
PLENGTHAI: We usually share ideas among ourselves first and find a direction that everyone agrees on before presenting it to the team, which makes the workflow smoother. Most of the time, we try to be involved in every aspect, whether it’s the concept, lyrics, choreography, or even the music video, because we want our identity as artists to truly exist within our work.
PEANUT: We want people to know that we are not just performers. We are creators who make music, art, and happiness, and we are ready to share those things with everyone.

Davide: Ninja and Plengthai, you both have such a strong presence and experience in the industry. How would you describe the chemistry between the four of you now? Who is the member who usually keeps the energy high during long hours in the studio?
NINJA: The four of us coming together isn’t just about work; it’s about a shared dream that has become one. That’s why we care deeply for each other and always support one another, no matter what. We went through a survival program together, which allowed us to grow side by side and understand each other better. When it comes to energy, we constantly lift each other up. No one carries everything alone, and we never leave anyone behind.
PLENGTHAI: For me, our chemistry worked well from the very first time we met during the program. That was the reason we decided to walk this career path together. Even though each of us has a different personality and we don’t always agree on everything, we stay together through love and support, which helps us overcome every challenge. As for the atmosphere, I have to give credit to Ninja — he’s always the one making jokes and bringing energy and colour to the group.

Davide: Tadalee, your transition into the artist world is fascinating, and Peanut, your growth has been so evident to everyone watching. What has been the most rewarding part of this journey as a quartet so far? Is there a moment you’ve shared together that you’ll never forget?
TADALEE: Most rewarding thing for me is to be in this journey, growing with our fans, achieving new things. It’s like everyone of us lending a hand to build a beautiful house for ourselves. I would say the transition phase is interesting, as I was a kid who had a dream, like everyone else, who failed hundreds of times before getting an opportunity to debut. Now that I’m standing here as an artist, I feel like I also carry other people’s dreams, and I am certain that I will make the best and never take any opportunity for granted.
PEANUT: Personally, I feel that every moment has been rewarding because we have gone through both hardships and happiness together from the very first day until now. We continue to hold onto each other tightly, never leaving anyone behind, and we remain determined to achieve our dreams together.

Davide: I’m writing to you from London! T-pop is becoming more popular every day. If SUPERTHAI were to come to the UK for a visit, what is the first thing you’d want to experience?
TADALEE: I would love to travel around, maybe watch some football games, as members of SuperThai love football (but I don’t know much, because I was a basketball player). I want to join into their worlds and experience what the people who I love enjoy.
NINJA:
The first thing I’d want to do is meet our fans and say, “Sawasdee UK, SUPERTHAI right here.” I’d also love to visit Big Ben again and fulfil a promise I once made to myself that I would return there someday.
PLENGTHAI:
As SuperThai, I think we would be incredibly happy to travel around the UK, take beautiful photos, and most importantly, hold a concert there so people in the UK could see us perform with their own eyes. Personally, I really love football, and the UK is famous for it. The team I support is Liverpool, and I would love to visit Anfield at least once in my life.
PEANUT:
Personally, I would love to experience the atmosphere of the UK as much as possible. I also want to show everyone what the four of us are capable of and become more widely known there.

Davide: Which artists inspired you growing up to become the artists you are today?  And are there any artists, present or past, that you’d love to collaborate with?
TADALEE: I was born into a music family; my dad was a guitarist, and my mom sings. So I was exposed to a lot of music. I grew up watching Chris Brown, Michael Jackson, Usher, etc., therefore my soul is hip hop / rnb. However, the people who have gotten me into the idol world were EXO and BTS. I really look up to all my idols, and each and every one of them made me who I am today. I really appreciate all their hard work and art that they left for the world.
NINJA: The people who first inspired me to pursue this dream were my parents. They are my greatest inspiration. As for artists I’d love to collaborate with, BTS, Jeff Satur, and many others come to mind.
PLENGTHAI: When I was young, a Thai artist named Bie The Star was the first person who inspired me to start singing and dancing. As I grew older, my all-time favourite artist became Bruno Mars, and he is also the artist I would most love to collaborate with in my lifetime.
PEANUT: The artists I would love to collaborate with are Jeff Satur, Charlie Puth, and BTS. My biggest inspiration since childhood has been my father. I loved listening to him sing, and we often spent time singing together in karaoke rooms. Those moments inspired me to grow up and become an artist.

Davide:
You just performed at the K-Pop Revolution festival! This was such an exciting milestone. What were you most looking forward to performing in front of your fans in Mainz? And what memories are you taking away from it?
TADALEE: Mainz was crazy. It was beyond our expectations. People are so nice and warmly welcome us. Thank you for making us feel at home. We really enjoyed performing there and definitely would love to come back!
NINJA: This was our very first performance in Europe. I’m incredibly grateful for such a warm welcome. We received amazing inspiration and overflowing energy from everyone there, and everything that happened became an unforgettable memory for me.
PLENGTHAI: Going to Mainz was beyond anything we had ever dreamed of. I was excited because we performed the longest set we had ever done, and we also performed new songs there for the very first time. Everyone welcomed us so warmly, and everything that happened there will be a memory I will never forget.
PEANUT: I really wanted to show the energy and abilities of all four of us to everyone. I was especially excited to see the audience enjoying our performance and having fun together with us.

Davide: When you aren’t busy performing, how do you like to unwind? If you could take the CUBBIES on a tour of your favourite spots in Thailand, where would you go to relax and grab some food?
TADALEE: I love to travel around, road trips and getting some food. I recommend going to “Banthad Thong” as it’s a place where you can find so much food…SOOOOO GOOD!! Also, for road trips, my favourite was going to Khao Yai and doing some cycling there. The scenery is AMAZING!!!
NINJA: Honestly, I don’t go out much on my days off; I prefer spending time by myself. But if I could take CUBBIES around Thailand, I would bring them to visit temples and enjoy a dinner cruise along the Chao Phraya River.
PLENGTHAI: During my free time, I usually like staying at home with my family, playing games, or watching football. If I go out, I enjoy activities like playing football, golfing, or bowling. I don’t travel much, but if I were to recommend a place, I would suggest visiting Banthat Thong Road because there is so much delicious food there, and it’s one of my favourite places to go.
PEANUT: I would love to invite everyone to hang out in my room, play games, talk, and relax together. As for food, anything is fine as long as we can enjoy the time and be happy together.

Davide: Finally, what is the “next gear” for SUPERTHAI in 2026? Are you working on some new music? Can you give us a little hint? And do you have a special message for the international CUBBIES who are supporting you from London and all around the world?
TADALEE: We definitely have some projects going on, but can’t tell you all yet. Just know that we work our hearts out to deliver the best things for you all, stay tuned!! And to London, and our fans anywhere in the world, no matter where you are, we love you!!! Thank you for your support all along. Hopefully, we’ll get to meet one day. Until then, take care! LOVE!!!
NINJA: Our plan for 2026 is to become more widely known, hold concerts, and expand our presence so more people can discover us. We will continue working hard to deliver our best music. And to our international fans around the world:
“I promise we will meet you one day. Please wait for us, and we will make you proud.”
PLENGTHAI: In 2026, our goal is to work even harder and take better care of our health to prepare for the projects coming in the future. As for the next single, there will definitely be one. We are working on it with great dedication, and it won’t be just one song. To CUBBIES around the world who see this message, SuperThai will continue creating great work for all of you. Please keep supporting and following us. We love our CUBBIES.
PEANUT: Our goal this year is definitely to release new music, and we are also looking forward to having concerts or even a world tour. I hope our CUBBIES family will continue to grow bigger and stronger.

Davide: Thank you so much for your time, guys! It’s been an absolute joy getting to know you. I wish you all the success in the world—keep killing it! ขอบคุณครับ (Khob khun krub)
NINJA: Thank you very much.
PLENGTHAI: Thank you so much, Davide, for this interview. I hope we will have the chance to work together again in the future.
PEANUT: Let’s go together.

Massive thanks to SuperThai and team for this amazing interview. Make sure to follow SuperThai’s journey and keep up with the latest on their social media platforms. I look forward to seeing what these amazing guys will bring next!
