If you haven’t heard of The Rose, well, it’s time to crawl out from under that rock!
Hailing from South Korea, this indie-rock sensation is like a breath of fresh air in the music scene. Comprising of Kim Woosung, Park Dojoon, Lee Hajoon, and Lee Jaehyeong, The Rose is not your typical boy band. Nope, they’re a talented bunch who not only sing but also play their own instruments, and boy, do they know how to rock a stage! These guys are not just a band; they’re a force of nature!

The Rose has been making waves in the music industry, blending indie-rock vibes with soul-stirring melodies. And let me tell you, their stop on the 30th of March 2024 at the OVO Wembley Arena from their ‘Dawn To Dusk’ World Tour was nothing short of legendary. In one word: phenomenal. Seriously, if I could shower them with stars, I’d run out of the whole universe! The energy at the arena was electric, and it was clear from the get-go that this was going to be a night to remember.
From the moment the lights dimmed and the crowd erupted, you knew you were in for something special. The Rose doesn’t just perform; they command the stage. And when they kicked off with “Eclipse” followed by the hauntingly beautiful “Dawn” (instrumental), it was like the whole arena held its breath in anticipation. Then, bam! They launched into “You’re Beautiful” and “Shift,” and the energy was palpable. The crowd was on their feet, dancing, singing, living in the moment.

It wasn’t just about the music; it was about the connection they forged with every single person in that arena. When they played “Back to Me,” it felt like they were speaking directly to each of us.
And when they launched into “Yes,” Woosung’s voice filled the air, captivating everyone in the room.
Woosung truly excelled in engaging the fans and encouraging interaction and singing along during this particular moment.
But how about the pièce de résistance? Well… As a true rock band, we couldn’t expect anything less than something out of the box!
It was midway through the show when they introduced two incredibly talented violin and cello artists to perform alongside them for ‘Angel’ and ‘Definition of Ugly’.
The fusion of rock and classical music was nothing short of breathtaking. And when Woosung unleashed that electric guitar solo during the closer of ‘Definition of Ugly’, it was like watching a maestro at work.
What truly stood out to me was when The Rose took a moment to reminisce and express gratitude to their fans from the past till now. Woosung’s heartfelt acknowledgement of their journey from humble beginnings to the grandeur of the OVO Wembley Arena is truly poignant. As he took a moment to express gratitude, reminiscing about their days of street performances in Seoul’s vibrant atmosphere of Hongdae, it was a testament to their unwavering dedication and the immense support of their fans.
Their belief in the healing power of music resonated deeply with the audience. From helping us navigate life’s trials and traumas to fostering connections and creating cherished memories, The Rose sees themselves not just as musicians but as messengers of hope and healing. And what better way to illustrate this than through their debut song, “Sorry.” As the haunting melody filled the arena, it was a reminder of the transformative power of music to touch our souls and unite us in shared experiences.
So, as we reflect on The Rose’s incredible performance, let’s not forget the journey that brought them here and the profound impact they’ve had on their fans. From the streets of Seoul to the global stage, their music continues to inspire and uplift, reminding us that, indeed, music is a special gift that has the power to heal and unite us all.
To conclude the show, The Rose’s hits “Cure” and “She’s in the Rain” were like emotional rollercoasters, taking us on a journey through love and loss. And when they closed the show with “Sour” and “Cosmo,” it was like fireworks exploding in the night sky. It was pure magic.
As they thanked us for our support over the years, you could feel the gratitude radiating from the stage. And when they handed out red roses to fans during the final moments of the show, it was like a symbol of the bond they’ve forged with their audience.
As I wrap up this review, I want to emphasise the remarkable talent and charisma of the entire ensemble of The Rose. Each member brings something unique to the table, showcasing their individual prowess and collective synergy on stage. While Woosung’s presence is undeniably captivating and I mentioned his name a lot in this article, let’s not overlook the stellar performances and infectious energy of Dojoon, Hajoon, and Jaehyeong.
In particular, I found myself drawn to Dojoon’s magnetic charm and endearing goofiness. His vocals were not only impressive but also injected with a playful spirit that resonated with the audience. Is he my new bias in the group? Well, I think it’s safe to say he’s won me over completely!
So, as we celebrate The Rose’s triumphant return to the stage, let’s remember that their brilliance shines not just individually, but as a cohesive unit, where each member plays an integral role in creating unforgettable musical experiences. Here’s to Woosung, Dojoon, Hajoon, and Jaehyeong, may their talents continue to inspire and delight audiences around the world. You guys made London’s fans very proud!
