The Night Camden Met Seoul: GAHO & KAVE Live in London

On 18 April 2026, the legendary walls of The Underworld in Camden played host to one of the most anticipated stops of the “Cityscapes — New Horizons” Europe Tour. The night brought together the soulful, genre-defying artistry of GAHO and the raw, rebellious energy of his band, KAVE, for a performance that proved why they are currently some of the most exciting names in the Korean music scene, and, as a little spoiler, I was blown away by their performance!

Often described as an “urban poet,” GAHO made his official solo debut in 2018 with the EP Preparation for a Journey. While he initially gained global recognition for his powerhouse vocals on record-breaking K-drama soundtracks—most notably the soaring anthem “Start Over” from Itaewon Class—he has since carved out a distinct identity as a versatile singer-songwriter and producer. His latest single, “To Mars” (released in April 2026), marks a bold new chapter in his career, blending contemporary pop with cosmic metaphors and refined emotional depth.

KAVE is far more than just a backing band; they are a self-produced rock collective that champions self-expression and “personal rebellion.” Comprising Gaho (vocals), KekiNu (drums), Jisang (guitar), Hyun (keyboard), Seo Junho (drums) and Ownr (keyboard/DJ), the group officially debuted in the summer of 2024 with their first EP, Flight of Ideas. They quickly followed up with their second EP, Say My Name, featuring standout tracks like “You” and “Stone.” Known for their “modern-day pirate” aesthetic, KAVE brings a gritty, unfiltered edge to the stage, seamlessly fusing rock, electronic, and pop elements.

As the lights dimmed in London, the intimacy of the venue set the perfect backdrop for a night of high-octane notes, electric guitar solos, and a connection with the crowd that made the whole set feel far too short.

GAHO & KAVE opened the show with “Beautiful Night,” and they set the bar incredibly high. From that very first moment, we knew the night was going to be a beautiful one indeed. The energy of the band and GAHO’s effortless high notes made me stop everything I was doing just to stare and admire his incredible range. It was absolutely insane; not even three minutes into the set, and I was already blown away.

The set continued with “High,” after which the band took a moment to express their excitement about being in London and how happy they were to be so close to the fans. They then moved into “Start Over” and “To Mars“—GAHO’s latest title track.

The setlist transitioned into “Stay Here,” his debut song. GAHO mentioned that he wrote this track with his pal, Hyun, who was there on the keyboard. After Hyun played a melodic solo, the mood shifted toward a heavier rock vibe to introduce “Follow Me” and the iconic “Venom.” The latter had such a cool, gritty rock energy that it had everyone in the venue jumping and dancing.

GAHO & KAVE kept the momentum going with “Die for You” and an unreleased song titled “Power,” which might be KAVE’s upcoming title track. As the show slowly approached its conclusion, we were treated to one of the best songs in their repertoire, in my opinion: “Stone.”

The band took another moment to thank the fans, sharing how honoured they felt to be in London and promising to repay the audience by continuing to make great music. The night surged on with “Right Now” and “Dangerous,” before they wrapped up the main set with “You” and “Where is the King.”

Before finishing the encore, the band took a group photo and cheered with beers on stage, with everyone in the crowd screaming “건배” (Geonbae!) alongside them. To wrap up the night for good, they played “Stone” one more time, and Gaho even jumped into the audience! It was such an amazing and heartwarming way to close the show.

Overall, this performance was out of this world. GAHO’s voice is incredible—the man handles a high note like a seasoned pro—and KAVE’s chemistry on stage is undeniable. I knew they were good, but after this show, I can confidently say they are an act to watch. I’m certain their future music will leave us all floored.
